70-Year-Old Man Indicted for Sexual Battery on a Child Under 12

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – On Wednesday, an Orange County grand jury formally indicted Kenneth Kafader, 70, for Sexual Battery on a Child (Victim Under 12 Years of Age) and two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation (Victim Under 12 Years of Age).

On Aug. 17, 2024, Orlando Police Department officers were called to a home for a report of a sexual battery on a child. A witness in the home reported seeing Kafader reach under the victim’s nightgown and sexually batter her. The witness confronted Kafader, who left the home before the police arrived.

Officers located Kafader at his home the next day and subsequently arrested him following an investigation.

On Nov. 20, the State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure an indictment against Kafader for Sexual Battery on a Child (Victim Under 12 Years of Age) and two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation (Victim Under 12 Years of Age).

Please check the Orange County Clerk of Court’s website for the latest updates on court hearings.

We are unable to provide additional information about the case at this time.

An indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
