Lakrisha Isaac Accepts Plea in Manslaughter Case
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Lakrisha Isaac, 33, entered a plea of no contest for Manslaughter and Culpable Negligence by Storing or Leaving a Loaded Firearm within Reach of a Minor for a shooting that resulted in the death of Lashun Rodgers, 41.
On May 30, 2022, Orlando Police were called to Jernigan Gardens Apartments at 1440 Mercy Drive in reference to a shooting. The victim was found with a gunshot wound and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Witnesses reported to officers the shooter was a juvenile and identified the juvenile’s mother as Lakrisha Isaac. She was later arrested and charged in the death of Ms. Rodgers.
At a plea hearing on May 3, Isaac pleaded guilty to Manslaughter and Culpable Negligence by Storing or Leaving a Loaded Firearm within Reach of a Minor. Provided Isaac is not arrested prior to and attends her sentencing hearing on June 21, the Court agreed to the terms of five years in the Florida Department of Corrections followed by three years of probation, at least a 4-hour parenting course and substance abuse evaluation and treatment. She will also be required to follow the Department of Children and Families case plan and comply with the Cornerstone Connections plan.
