Lakrisha Isaac Sentenced in Manslaughter Case
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Lakrisha Isaac, 33, was sentenced to five years in prison for Manslaughter and Culpable Negligence by Storing or Leaving a Loaded Firearm within Reach of a Minor for a shooting that resulted in the death of Lashun Rodgers, 41.
On May 30, 2022, Orlando Police were called to Jernigan Gardens Apartments at 1440 Mercy Drive in reference to a shooting. The victim was found with a gunshot wound and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Witnesses reported to officers the shooter was a juvenile and identified the juvenile’s mother as Lakrisha Isaac. She was later arrested and charged in the death of Ms. Rodgers.
On May 3, 2024, Isaac entered a plea of no contest for Manslaughter and Culpable Negligence by Storing or Leaving a Loaded Firearm within Reach of a Minor. The Court agreed to the terms of five years in the Florida Department of Corrections followed by three years of probation, at least a 4-hour parenting course and substance abuse evaluation and treatment. She will also be required to follow a Department of Children and Families case plan and comply with a Cornerstone Connections plan.
