Man Indicted for First Degree Murder in Stabbing Death of Woman
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – On Wednesday, an Orange County grand jury formally indicted Shannon King, 56, for First Degree Murder and Stalking.
On March 1, 2024, the defendant approached the victim Jessica Leigh Steigelman, 38, in a shopping center parking lot located at 10908 West Colonial Drive in Ocoee. A witness observed the two appearing to argue outside of a vehicle. After King and Ms. Steigelman got into her vehicle, another witness observed King stabbing Steigelman with a large knife and rushed to help her. Bystanders detained King until Ocoee police officers arrived on scene and arrested him.
On July 31, the State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure an indictment against King for First Degree Murder and Stalking.
