Man Indicted for Murder After Shooting at a Group of People
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County grand jury formally indicted Jeffrey Figueroa Rivera, 47, on First Degree Murder (with a Firearm) and three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder (with a Firearm) for shooting into a group of people following a dispute.
On July 26, 2024, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting at a Texaco gas station in the 800 block of West Lancaster Road. Deputies determined a man got into an argument with several others that turned physical. He left and came back to the scene with a gun and began firing at the group of people, hitting three people. One victim, Ronald Roberts, was shot in the leg and died from his injuries three days later.
On Aug. 1, deputies executed a warrant and arrested Figueroa Rivera for Roberts’ murder and the shooting of the two other victims.
On Sept. 25, the State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure an indictment against the defendant for First Degree Murder (with a Firearm) and three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder (with a Firearm).
