Man Indicted on Two Counts of First Degree Murder

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County grand jury formally indicted Leandro Correa, 48, on two counts of First Degree Murder (with a Firearm) for shooting and killing two people.

On July 4, 2024, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies found two men shot by an unknown gunman. The suspect shot the first victim, Jose Carrasquillo, at a mobile home park. The gunman then traveled down the road and shot the second victim approximately 3½ miles away from the location of the first shooting. Both victims died from their injuries.

OCSO investigators determined Correa was the prime suspect, located him and took him into custody.

On Sept. 25, the State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure an indictment against Correa for two counts of First Degree Murder (with a Firearm).

Please check the Orange County Clerk of Court’s website for the latest updates on court hearings.

We are unable to provide additional information about the case at this time.

An indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
