ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County jury found Alfredo Torres-Eusebio, 42, guilty of First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder and Shooting/Throwing into an Occupied Vehicle after he shot and killed a man and wounded another man in 2022.

On September 8, 2022, Torres-Eusebio tracked down and lured Trey Kennedy, 30, and another man to a parking lot in the 11200 block of East Colonial Drive where he shot and killed Mr. Kennedy and wounded the second victim. The defendant confronted Mr. Kennedy at his car and held him at gunpoint. Torres-Eusebio opened fire on Mr. Kennedy and the second victim who was sitting inside Mr. Kennedy’s vehicle then fled the area.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the shooting and spoke with the wounded victim who identified Torres-Eusebio as the shooter. On September 17, 2022, detectives made contact with a female witness who told them on the evening of the shooting, the defendant picked her up and drove her around to look for Mr. Kennedy, unaware of his intentions. Detectives showed her a photo lineup of Torres-Eusebio and she identified him. They also interviewed the second victim, who verified the events of that evening. He also identified Torres-Eusebio through a photo lineup. Detectives obtained surveillance video that captured the shooting on video and confirmed the details provided by the witness and second victim.

Torres-Eusebio was arrested a few days after the shooting on an unrelated warrant. When detectives interviewed him, he admitted to knowing Kennedy but said they had a falling out. He denied involvement in the shooting when questioned about it. During the trial, witnesses testified that Torres-Eusebio was looking for Kennedy in the days before the shooting and offered money for his location. A co-defendant who drove the defendant to the scene of the shooting also testified against him.

After a three-day trial, a jury found Torres-Eusebio guilty of First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder and Shooting/Throwing into an Occupied Vehicle. The judge sentenced him to life in prison for count one, 30 years for count two and 15 years for count three.

The defendant is a prison release reoffender and had previously served time for Manslaughter.
