State Attorney Andrew A. Bain was born in Fort Lauderdale, the son of a pastor and youngest of two boys. He first dreamed of a career as a marine biologist. But after a growth spurt, became more focused on athletics, while maintaining his desire to help others.

After graduating from Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, he enrolled at the University of Miami, where he not only played football, but he also developed an interest in the law. He graduated with a double major in Psychology and African American Studies, with a minor in Business Law, continuing his interest in supporting underserved populations and firmly committing to his goal of attending law school.

Before beginning his legal education at Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law, State Attorney Bain worked for a law firm, where he gained valuable insight on the profession. He also spent time in the National Football League, playing for the New York Giants.

While in law school, he was a Certified Legal Intern in the Housing Clinic, competed on Moot Court, a Certified County Court Mediator, and was on the Dean’s List. He graduated in 2013.

State Attorney Bain fully embraced the FAMU College of Law mission of community service and began his legal career as a public servant. He spent seven years as an Assistant State Attorney in the Ninth Judicial Circuit before being appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis in June of 2020 and was elected by the people of Orange County in 2022. He served in the Orange County criminal division, specialized division, and civil division.

State Attorney Andrew Bain now serves as the State Attorney of the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Florida. He aims to focus on public safety, strengthen communication with law enforcement, and provide transparency about the administration with the community. State Attorney Bain upholds justice and equity while ensuring public safety for all constituents, no matter their gender, race, color, or creed.
