The Juvenile Diversion Alternative Program (JDAP) is a diversion program for youth 17 years old or younger who live in Orange or Osceola counties. It provides services based on the individual youth and family needs. Only youth referred by the State Attorney’s Office are allowed to participate in the program.

Youth will be assigned a case manager who will develop and provide supervision over the youth’s case plan. Case plan sanctions include:

  • Curfew
  • Community service
  • Restitution
  • Counseling
  • Anger management
  • Apology letter
  • Mental health counseling
  • Life skills

JDAP offers the Step Up program for youth with domestic violence cases. The Step Up program will add counseling services, anger management and family counseling to the youth’s case plan, if needed, to address the issue.

The DJAP program usually lasts 2-4 months. Upon successful completion, all charges are dismissed.
