Former Osceola County Deputy Sentenced to Jail
ORANGE COUNTY, FL – Former Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Arturo Dominguez entered a plea to Official Misconduct and Accessory After the Fact to Second Degree Felony stemming from aiding a childhood friend who was under investigation for having sex with a minor.
On December 20, Dominguez was adjudicated guilty by a judge and sentenced to 60 days in jail followed by three years of supervised probation. He was also required to surrender his Florida law enforcement officer certification with no opportunity for reinstatement.
Dominguez used law enforcement databases to conduct searches on an open investigation and warrant for his childhood friend, Omar Ayala, who is accused of having sex with a minor in Okeechobee County. He also fabricated a traffic stop to cover his tracks, lied about his actions when questioned by investigators and failed to inform detectives about Ayala’s plans to elude authorities.
Dominguez was arrested in April 2023 and terminated from his position at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Additional terms of Dominguez’s plea agreement include a strict no-contact order with Ayala.
