Man Indicted for Killing Two at After-Hours Business

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County grand jury formally indicted Christopher Haynes, 31, for two counts of First Degree Murder (with a Firearm).

In the early morning hours of March 23, 2024, the two male victims attended a party that was held after hours at a business on North Pine Hills Road. The shooter approached one of the victims and began firing multiple times, striking the man. The second victim was standing nearby and was also hit multiple times by gunfire. Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office obtained video from the party. Haynes was identified on video by several people in attendance. Deputies tracked him down in Tennessee. He was interviewed, arrested and charged with the murder of the two men.

On Wednesday (June 26), the State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure indictments against Haynes for two counts of First Degree Murder (with a Firearm).

Please check the Orange County Clerk of Court’s website for the latest updates on court hearings.

We are unable to provide additional information about the case at this time.

An indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
