Man Sentenced to Life for Sexually Abusing Children

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando Man, Eric Martin, 34, was sentenced to life in prison and two 25-year minimum mandatory sentences after an Orange County jury convicted him of sexually abusing three children.

Martin was found guilty of Sexual Battery on a Child under 12, two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation and Battery for sexually abusing three children.

Law enforcement became aware of the incidents in 2017. All three victims reported being sexually abused by Martin on several different occasions over six years. The victims also reported witnessing Martin abusing the other victims in various locations including in Polk County and Alabama.

The Department of Children and Families began investigating the defendant in 2017. During a DCF interview with a doctor, Martin admitted to molesting a child and having sex with a child. Martin denied the allegations when speaking with law enforcement, stating the victims were being coached.

After a four-day trial, the jury found Martin guilty of Sexual Battery on a Child Under 12, two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation and Battery. He was given a life sentence, plus two 25-year minimum mandatory sentences, all to be served consecutively.
