Financial Empowerment Workshop

Join us for this free workshop where parents and teens can gain valuable tools for financial success. Learn about credit repair, business ownership and more! This event is hosted in partnership with the National Entrepreneur Center.

Series Overview

In August 2024, the Ninth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office launched Thriving Families, a crime prevention initiative aimed at supporting and strengthening family structures. In collaboration with local organizations, these free community workshops provide tools and interventions that enhance family well-being and help children grow into resilient, healthy individuals.

Why This Matters

Research shows children from stable, two-parent families are 20-30% less likely to engage in criminal activities. Thriving Families addresses how to support diverse family situations and offers practical resources to break the cycle of trauma. We can build a safer, healthier community for all by strengthening family foundations.

Workshop Focus

The free workshops will cover a variety of essential topics, including:

  • Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences: Recognizing the effects of past trauma and discovering practical steps to heal and move forward.
  • Financial Empowerment: Providing strategies to strengthen financial stability and security for families.

Join Us in Building a Stronger Community

Through partnerships and community engagement, the Thriving Family Series aims to foster resilience and empower families, ensuring everyone has a fair chance to succeed.
